Thursday, 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Dental education has historically offered limited training in treating patients with developmental or physical disabilities. The session includes a summary of major disabilities, practical treatment planning tips, and selected case discussions.

Learning Objectives:
- Identify at least two historical events that shaped the current approach to disability in America.
- List and describe the main types of developmental disabilities.
- Explain at least three common barriers to dental care for patients with disabilities.
- Demonstrate how to adapt or modify a dental treatment plan for a patient with a developmental disability.
