This course will discuss updates to important definitions and sedation concepts to help you understand what makes minimal sedation uniquely safe for the dental patient and practitioner. Learn why sedation and anesthesia in dentistry have been popular topics highlighted by conflicting standards of care and state specific regulations, controversy over in office practice models, safety outcomes measurements and required training.

- Understand the current spectrum of sedation and anesthesia and what makes minimal sedation unique.
- Discuss the current regulatory environment for sedation and anesthesia in the dental office.
- Compare patient parameters (responsiveness, airway, CV and respiratory function) for each level of sedation.
