Dr. Douglas W. Beals
Health History and Treatment Planning
Thursday, 10:00am - 1:00pmClassroom: Solana E
There is an old saying in dentistry, "don't treat a stranger", and it couldn't be more true. If practitioners don't have a thorough understanding of their patients' past medical history, they cannot formulate treatment plans that will provide an optimum outcome. In this talk, we will dive into what it means to acquire a good medical history. What we should be looking for in that history and how it could impact our patients during and after treatment. Lastly, we will discuss treatment strategies for common health conditions and how to incorporate these into your workflow. If you want to learn more about conditions like MRONJ, diabetes, anticoagulants, and head and neck radiation and how they may impact your treatment, then this talk is for you.
