How to Restore the Endodontically Treated Tooth Without Posts and Without Full Coronal Crown Coverage

Thursday, 9:00am - 12:00pm
Classroom:  Cira B

This is a fully detailed description of how to use high density polyethylene fibers in conjunction with a glass rod impregnated composite to restore the interior structure of the endodontically treated tooth. This tooth will then be restored with either a ceramic inlay or onlay, which preserves the maximum amount of healthy and sound natural tooth structure.

Learning Objectives:
- Understand the principles of stress modification with bonded restorations
- Understand how HDHMW fibers can support the stress of mastication
- Learn how to utilize reinforced composite to support the compromised tooth
- Become familiar with the principles of partial coverage restorations
- Learn the different bonding properties of Zirconia and Emax
- Become familiar with the principles of bonding to dentin that has been exposed to the chemicals of endodontic therapy
- To become comfortable with a different paradigm in thinking about the structure of and the integrity of the compromised tooth.
