Join the Arizona Department of Health Services' experts for an engaging and informative session designed to elevate dental antimicrobial stewardship. We'll provide a comprehensive overview of Arizona-specific antibiotic prescribing trends, with a special focus on dental professionals, using data from the CMS Part D dataset. The session will provide the latest updates in antimicrobial prophylaxis guidelines for special populations, including patients at risk for infective endocarditis and prosthetic joint infections. Finally, we'll work together to address and debunk the outdated practice of prescribing clindamycin for patients with a penicillin allergy.
