Friends of Dentistry (formerly AzDENPAC) Fighting for Dentistry

Every year, insurance companies and third parties introduce legislation and policies that increase costs, limit autonomy, and make it harder to practice dentistry on your terms. They spend heavily on lobbyists and political influence because dentistry is too important &mdash and too valuable &mdash for them to ignore. They are not slowing down.

That is why AzDA exists.

AzDA and the ADA invest substantial time, labor, and resources advocating on your behalf. In Arizona, AzDA's Council on Government Affairs alone contributes hundreds of volunteer hours each year to defend the profession and push back against insurance company overreach, government intrusion, and third-party interference.

That advocacy has produced real results. Recent efforts have:
  • Stopped insurers from requiring virtual credit card payments that cost dentists 2-5% in fees
  • Prevented insurance network leasing practices that could move dentists into unfavorable networks without proper consent
  • Required insurers to honor assignment of benefits and pay providers directly
  • Increased transparency into how insurance dollars are spent
  • Advanced legislation to prevent insurance companies from owning dental practices in Arizona
These are not abstract wins. They directly affect how you get paid, how you practice, and how much control you keep over patient care.

Membership keeps dentistry organized and represented. PAC support helps make sure our voice is heard where key decisions are made. One sustains the advocacy effort. The other strengthens our ability to fight effectively.

The reality is simple: you do not have the time, energy, or political access to fight these battles alone. But together, we can. If AzDA is fighting on your behalf, we ask that you stand with us in two ways: maintain your membership and contribute to the PAC.
